DescriptionThis image was captured from beneath a bridge over the Cuyahoga River Valley in Ohio's only National Park. The Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area was created by an act of Congress sponsored by Rep. John F. Seiberling and signed by President Gerald Ford on 27 December 1974. It designated 32,000 acres along 22 miles of the Cuyahoga River in southern Cuyahoga and northern Summit counties as the third urban park in the National Park system. In 2000 the name was changed to Cuyahoga Valley National Park to make it more recognizable as a part of the National Park System. Today it is a destination for millions of visitors each year and preserves 33,000 acres along the Cuyahoga River between Cleveland and Akron in northeastern Ohio. For more information about the park see http://www.nps.gov/cuva/index.htm.
