DescriptionThis image shows the covered bridge on Everett Road in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Crossing over Furnace Run, the Everett Road Covered Bridge is the only remaining covered bridge in Summit County. In the 19th century, it was one of over 2,000 in Ohio, the state that led the nation in covered-bridge construction. The bridge can be found at 2370 Everett Road, Peninsula 44264 (81° 34.865' W) (41° 12.265' N).

About Mr. SeiberlingJohn Frederick Seiberling, Jr. (1918-2008) was born in Akron, Ohio. In addition to his many accomplishments as a United States Congressman (1971-1987), conservationist, and law school professor, John Seiberling was an avid photographer and environmental steward. Mr. Seiberling took literally thousands of photographs during his personal and professional travels and often used his photographs to sway legislators to vote for the conservation issues that he supported. One of his many achievements was his major effort in 1974 to create and preserve the Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area.
