| Description | This image shows the 1930 graduating class of St. Hedwig's parish school in Akron, Ohio. The Cleveland Diocese of the Catholic Church established the parish to serve the polish immigrant community in Akron in 1912. By 1956 the parish included a convent, rectory, church and school. The school closed in 1968, the convent in 1980 and the last mass was celebrated in the church on September 26, 2009. |
