The rubberized surface of the historic towpath through the center of Akron permits noontime walks by active members of Downtown Akron's 30,000 person workforce. This award-winning section is at Exchange street, south of Lock 2 and Canal Park. The last mile of the bike-and-hike trail through Downtown is being completed.
