DescriptionThe Akron Water Works Company began construction of a water distribution system for the city of Akron in 1880. Water was obtained from a farm well on Wooster Avenue, a reservoir on Sherbondy Hill in the western part of the city, and later from Manning's Pond and Summit Lake.
