Interurbans bridge the Cuyahoga
Interurbans bridge the Cuyahoga
TitleInterurbans bridge the Cuyahoga
DescriptionBoth of these bridges across the Cuyahoga River were built by traction companies - the lower one by John F. Seiberling's Akron Traction company in 1895 and the upper one by the A.B. and C. (Akron, Bedford, and Cleveland, later Northern Ohio Traction & Light), in 1903. After the interurbans stopped running in 1932, the upper bridge was taken over by the county and converted into a bridge for general traffic. Early in the 20th century, the bridges were known as the High Level Bridge and the Low Level Bridge.
