DescriptionThe Emily Harpham House is located at 579 Weber Avenue. Ms. Harpham was a teacher at the old Akron High School, which became Central-Hower High School. Emily was a Buchtel College Alumna, Class of 1896. She was a charter member of the College Club and a member of the Association of University Women. She was past president of the Akron Garden club and Akron Woman's City Club. To the right of the Harpham house is the M. F. Murdock House, located at 575 Weber Ave, is a Progressive Mode style home. Mr. Murdock established M. F. Murdock Company, a distributor for Goodrich products as well as other nationally known manufacturers. He was also a charter member of the Akron Rotary Club. His wife is Ethel Harpham Murdock.
