| Title | On A. & C. F. Rapid Transit Railway at Silver Lake |
| Description | The Akron and Cuyahoga Falls Rapid Transit Company built a rail line to Silver Lake Park, a popular summer resort in the 1880s. The construction of this line created a fierce competition between Thomas F. Walsh and John F. Seiberling. Walsh won and service started on June 22, 1894. The competition was very public. The Akron Times backed Walsh and the Beacon backed Seiberling. Both sides lobbied the Akron City Council. Due to the hilly terrain of the rail line, it was also known as the Mountain Line.
