| Title | Perkins Park |
| Description | Perkins Park, Akron's first park, was located on the corner of Exchange and Bowery Streets in 1898. When General Simon Perkins originally planned the Village of Akron, he included a New England style public square on this land. Akron did not grow in the direction Perkins anticipated, and the square never become the center of town. The name of the park was changed from Perkins Park to Perkins Square in June of 1900.
