Stan Hywet Stan Hywet Hall is one of the finest examples of Tudor Revival architecture in America. The 65-room country mansion sits on 70 acres of artfully landscaped gardens and grounds. Stan Hywet Hall (Old English for "Stone Quarry") was built between 1912 and 1915 by early industrialist and Goodyear co-founder F.A. Seiberling and his wife, Gertrude. In 1957, the Seiberling family donated Stan Hywet to a nonprofit organization so that the public could enjoy and experience a noteworthy chapter in American history. Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is dedicated to the preservation, restoration and interpretation of the F. A. Seiberling family legacy. Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is Akron's only National Historic Landmark and Save America's Treasures project. It is accredited by the American Association of Museums.

Domestic Staff of Stan Hywet Collection

Over 50 images of the domestic and grounds staff of Stan Hywet Hall, the estate of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. co-founder F. A. Seiberling, which included a 65,000-square-foot manor house and over 1,000 acres in Akron, Ohio. Also included are photographs from trips to Cedar Lodge, the Seiberlings' summer estate near Hessel, Michigan.

Contains 23 images captured by Willard Penfield Seiberling (1892-1981). Mr. Seiberling, son of F.A. and Gertrude Seiberling, was a successful businessman whose lifelong interest and skill in photography produced a visual history of the Seiberling family, Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens and the world during the early 20th century.

Includes 125 images of the Seiberling family and friends.
