Exterior photograph of Brown-Graves Lumber Co. Brown-Graves Company began in 1908 when Harvey L. Graves purchased the Goehring Manufacturing Co. in Akron, Ohio. The company became a leading manufacturer of hand mirros, as well as brushes and other toiletry items. In 1914 Graves merged his company with the Hoehring Manufacturing Co, owned by his close friend Captain Brown, to form Brown-Graves Co. The company would go on to expand its products, selling millwork, doors, and windows to lumber dealers and contracters throughout the region. Later, the company would be purchased in entirety by members of the Graves family. Graves Lumber is still in operation today in Copley, Ohio.
